On Friday 18th November 2016, one of the Keep Active team, Phillip Hancock, volunteered his time at the BT call centre in Newcastle to provide a fun and activity filled session to the children of the volunteers on the phones, taking calls and donations.

Dementia – Biggest Killer in the UK

It was reported in the news this week that Dementia has overtaken heart disease as Britain’s biggest killer, accounting for almost one in eight deaths recorded in England and Wales 2015 – a total of 61,686 people – according to the Office for National Statistics.

The Coalfield Regeneration Trust recognise the positive work we’re doing!

We are delighted to inform you that we have been awarded £10,000 from The Coalfield Regeneration Trust to run a programme of super healthy out of school holiday camps for children across targeted venues in the North East. Activities to start February 2017.

Newcastle Year 5 & 6 Dodgeball Tournament

Well done to all 9 schools that took part in the Outer West Trust Dodgeball competition last Wednesday, 2nd November, which was sponsored by Education Network and delivered by Keep Active (NE). All the children (and teachers) behaved impeccably and all participants seemed to enjoy the friendly rivalry between the schools.

Breaking news…May Activity Holiday Camps announced

Here at Keep Kids Active we like to do just that…Keep Kids Active. So if you are stuck for childcare this May half term or you’re worried that your young ones will be stuck to the TV or Playstation then we can help!
Our holiday activity camps run from 9.00-3.00pm and are just £6 a day – that’s £1 per hour childcare, packed full of fun and games for your children.
