Attendance Adventure

Transforming School Attendance Through Positive Activity

Keep Active (NE) CIC is a Sunderland-based Community Interest Company established in 2011, working across some of the North East’s most deprived communities to reduce health and social inequalities.

Our Mission
To inspire children, young people and adults to lead healthier, more fulfilled lives through sport, nutrition and creative engagement.

What is Attendance Adventure?
Attendance Adventure is an innovative school-based programme designed to improve pupil attendance through rewards, physical activity, enrichment visits, cookery workshops and cultural experiences. It removes barriers to attendance while building confidence, wellbeing and aspiration.

Programmed Highlights

  • Physical activity sessions including archery, goalball and inclusive sports
  • Cultural visits including museums, bowling and community experiences
  • Interactive cookery and nutrition workshops using the Eatwell Guide
  • 6% increase in weekly attendance among participating pupils
  • Recognised contribution to improved Ofsted attendance outcomes
  • Currently expanding into additional Sunderland primary schools

Attendance Adventure is delivering measurable, meaningful change across Sunderland schools and offers an innovative, scalable solution for improving attendance.

Following an amazing pilot programme with Northern Saints Primary School in Sunderland, which is now an ongoing programme we are delighted to share the outline of the programme and also impact report from the school.
