Holiday Camps
During the Easter holidays, we were delighted to deliver three vibrant and engaging holiday camps across the city, hosted at Castletown Primary, Northern Saints, and our base at Sunderland Mind and Wellbeing Hub. These camps provided a fantastic opportunity for children to come together in a safe, supportive environment, where they could take part in a wide range of positive and enriching activities designed to boost both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Across the programme, 1200 children attended and enjoyed action-packed days filled with fun, learning, and creativity. From team games and physical activities to interactive workshops, each session was carefully designed to encourage confidence, resilience, and social connection.
A key highlight of the camps was the focus on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Each day, children were provided with a hot, tasty, and nutritious meal, along with healthy snacks and drinks to keep them energised throughout the day. In addition, cooking sessions gave children
the chance to get hands-on in the kitchen, learning about the importance of making healthy food choices while developing valuable life skills.
The camps also created a space for children to try new activities, discover new interests, and build friendships that will last beyond the holidays. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, growing confidence, and new connections being made.
These holiday camps were made possible thanks to funding from the Department for Education and were delivered in partnership with Together for Children. We are proud to be part of an initiative that supports children and families within our community, helping to create positive experiences and lasting impact.
We look forward to welcoming even more children to our future holiday programmes.
