Keep Active (NE) CIC are committed to helping your child reach their true potential. Sport and exercise can be a big step for some children and not so daunting for others. With fun filled events we want to ensure that all children have the equal opportunity to be involved in activities and work and learn at their own pace. We know that children should exercise at least 2 hours per week, let’s make that as interesting, enjoyable and accessible as possible.
Our Policies
Recruitment and Experience
Keep Active (NE) CIC comprise of specialist sports coaches and qualified teachers, with previous experience of working in primary/ secondary schools. All staff are recruited following a rigorous selection process where they attend a formal interview.
All staff hold relevant governing body coaching qualifications and are trained to the highest standards. Each team member holds an enhanced CRB, a first aid qualification and follows the Companies Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, Child Protection and Behaviour policies.
Child Protection and Anti-Bullying
Keep Active (NE) CIC believe that it is unacceptable for a child or young person to experience abuse of any kind and recognises its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.
We recognise that:
- The welfare of children and young people is vital.
- All children regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.
- Working in partnership with children, parents, carers and the local community is essential in promoting welfare for young people.
The purpose of the policy:
- To provide protection for the children and young people who attend Keep Active (NE) CIC programmes and/or events.
- To provide staff and volunteers with guidance on procedures they should adopt in the event that they suspect a child or young person may be experiencing, or be at risk of, harm.
Health and Safety
At every programme and event, your child’s health and safety is paramount. Your child will be grouped according to their age range. To ensure quality and safety, the following coach/children ratios are implemented:
Under 8’s 1:10
8’s and over 1:15
Keep Active (NE) CIC carry out Risk Assessments at all venues prior to the commencement of the programme or event. All issues regarding health and safety standards will be maintained and any improvements that Keep Active (NE) CIC need to adhere to will be implemented.
Insurance
Keep Active (NE) CIC will ensure that all Camp Manager have copies of public liability and employer’s liability insurance cover. If you would like to see a copy of the insurance please do not hesitate to ask a member of Keep Active staff.
Medical
Keep Active (NE) CIC requires the parent/guardian to have signed a form giving their consent for any medication to be administered by a member of staff. Keep Active (NE) CIC will keep a record of any medication administered whilst the children are attending a programme or event.
Sick Child
If your child has being suffering with an illness please allow up to 48 hours before sending your child to a programme or event or If your child is taken ill during an active camp our first priority will be to take care of your child and contact you.
Cancellations
Cancellations are subject to the following charges:
4 weeks prior to a camp – 100% refund
Unforeseen circumstances will be taken into account.
Accident and Emergency
All minor incidents/ accidents will be dealt with by First Aid trained staff. If your child is involved in an incident/ accident please speak to the Camp Manager as we require all the parent/guardian to sign the Accident Report Booklet on collection of your child to ensure you are informed of any incident that has occurred. If a serious accident occurs the parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as possible.
Registration
All children will need to be signed in and out by a parent/guardian. Please inform the Camp Manager if your child will be collected by another adult or if you are collecting your child before the pre-booked pick up time. This is important as sign out is not available under normal circumstances until 15 minutes prior to pick up time.
Uncollected Children
Parents/Guardians are advised to contact the Camp Manager if there are any issues collecting your child/children at the allocated collection times. At least two adults will remain with your child until you arrive. No child will be allowed to leave the venue or leave with another parent unless we have your written permission. If your child is collected late a charge will be incurred as stated in the terms and conditions.
Complaints
Keep Active (NE) CIC believes that children and parents/Guardians are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt, careful attention to their needs. We welcome suggestions on how to improve our services and concerns raised will be acted upon immediately. We endeavour to resolve concerns quickly by an informal approach to the Camp Manager. If this does not achieve the desired result; please contact our Company Directors on theboard@keepactive.org.uk.
Behaviour
At Keep Active (NE) CIC programmes and events we aim to encourage and reward positive behaviour. All children who attend our programmes and events must follow the Code of Behaviour guidelines.
