With reference to the Sportsability event held on Friday 6th May, I would like to say a massive thank you for again supporting the day and was a huge success. The Sportsability Festivals are a fantastic example of partners working together to deliver a quality experience to the young people of Sunderland with a disability. Without your support and enthusiasm the delivery of the events would not be possible.

We approached Keep Active as we wanted to enhance our after school club offer, train our lunchtime staff and generally develop sport and activity across school. The range of afternoon clubs on offer is extensive and we were able to opt for sports that the children had never encountered, such as fencing and curling, as well as take the opportunity to develop parental engagement through parent and child cookery club. The coaches are excellent – very professional, excellent timekeepers and are organised and ready for the children. The activities are engaging and fun and we always have reserve lists for spaces. Their extensive work with schools across the city enables them to arrange sporting competitions to suit all ages and abilities which means all children get to experience success and they have worked with my sports leader to ensure our sports day is organised and fun! Collin and Stacey really listened to our needs and worked hard to present a timetable of clubs to meet both our requirements and budget!  Nothing is too much trouble for them and that is why we will continue to work with Keep Active in the future.

Our school have worked with Keep Active for a number of years to enhance our after-school clubs. They have a fantastic range of activities available including gymnastics and creative arts and crafts. The engaging activities are delivered by fantastic coaches who create a positive and nurturing atmosphere for all children. Keep Active also deliver whole-school experience days! Nerf Wars was an absolute joy and such a fantastic experience for our children. The staff are accommodating, supportive and always on hand to support us as a school.

Burnside Academy Primary School

Broadway Junior School have been utilising the support from staff at Keep Active for some time now. As a result of this support, we have been able to further enhance our active offer for children by providing a wide variety of after school and lunchtime clubs. There is an interesting variety and we are able to provide something for everybody. For example, Netball, Fencing, Boxercise, Mini Warriors, Dodgeball and Rugby… to name a few! The children are fully engaged and enthused during these activities. In turn, they develop their social skills with others, team work skills and boost their self-esteem and self confidence. I have always been impressed by behaviour management, the rapport staff have with the children and the level of professionalism from the entire team. Everyone at Broadway Junior School would highly recommend.
